Charley Pollard, known for his rich tone and artistic dedication, combines technical skill with a passion for performance, inspiring audiences and peers alike. An accomplished tuba player from Los Angeles, Pollard is currently a Master of Music candidate at the Colburn Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Aaron Tindall. He completed his Bachelor of Music in Performance at the Frost School of Music, University of Miami. Pollard’s impressive accolades include being a finalist at the prestigious Leonard Falcone International Tuba Euphonium Competition. He has honed his craft at renowned programs such as the Aspen Music Festival and Eastern Music Festival and was a finalist in major auditions for ensembles like the Air Force Concert Band and Ceremonial Brass. His professional experience includes serving as a substitute tuba for the Naples Philharmonic and performing as a sought-after freelance musician in Los Angeles.

Charley Pollard is a tuba player and master’s student at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, known for his commitment to musical excellence and intentional performance. His musical journey began in middle school band where he somehow chose to play the tuba of all things and evolved through youth orchestras, state honor bands, and renowned summer programs. With each step, his passion for music deepened, driven by the pursuit of continual growth and the joy of collaborating with ever more skilled musicians to create pure and powerful performances.
A pivotal influence in Pollard’s career is his mentor, Aaron Tindall, who introduced him to the discipline and depth required to become a professional musician. Under Tindall’s mentorship, Pollard learned to dissect and interpret musical styles, master nuanced phrasing, and refine his sound. This foundation shaped Pollard’s approach, setting him apart through intentionality where every detail in his performance is carefully crafted and controlled, with a rich, beautiful sound that captivates audiences.
